I laughed with you, shared parts of myself I didn’t share with anyone else, and trusted you with my time, my energy, and my thoughts. I thought you valued me the way I valued you. I thought you saw me really saw me. But now I see that I was wrong. You didn’t notice when I was there. You didn’t reach out when I left. You didn’t care about my absence. And that hurts. It hurts deeply, because I gave you my heart, even in small ways, and you treated me like I was replaceable. Like I was optional. Like I was invisible. I’ve asked myself over and over: Why me? Why do I always end up with people who don’t care? I’ve tried to ignore it, to convince myself it’s fine, but the truth is I can’t. I feel hurt, frustrated, and exhausted from caring about people who would never care for me. And that’s not because I’m too much or not enough it’s because you never deserved the energy I gave. I am tired of feeling like I need to prove my worth to people who can’t see it. I am tired of bending, adjusting, explaining, hoping for something that will never come. I am tired of fake smiles, empty words, and hollow friendships that never grow beyond the surface. So here’s what I am doing now: I am letting you go. I am stepping back from this cycle. I am not writing this to hurt you, and I am not expecting you to understand. I am writing this for me — to release the weight I’ve been carrying. I will never or maybe one will forgive myself for caring too much, for expecting loyalty where it wasn’t offered, for loving people who couldn’t return it. And I forgive you for being who you were — imperfect, incapable of seeing my value, and unaware of the effect you had on me. I don’t need anyone anymore. I am happy alone peaceful in my own silence. I don’t crave attention, or friendship, or explanations. I’ve learned to sit with myself, and that’s enough. I will go like I never existed silently, completely. You’re all free now. In this story, I’ll be the bad one if that’s what it takes… because I’m walking out of it. I’m leaving the story, and you can keep your peace. I just want mine.
