Bio

I'm a High School student who's struggled with being gay in a state that generally isn't too accepting, major anxiety, procrastination, family issues, the fact my partner lives all the way on the opposite end of the country, etc. I'd like to become a writer someday, but seeing as that won't land me much money and my mom's likely going to force me to become one if able, I might just become a lawyer. My hobbies include browsing forums, playing videogames, writing, and debating. Though I'm not really much of an artist, I like to appreciate art -- maybe eventually try and get decent at it myself.

...See more I'm somewhat new to 7cups so I'm sorry if this isn't in the correct board, but yeah. I just started High School this year and I'm in 9th grade. Considering the majority of my family agrees that "high school sucks", I opted to take all of my courses online. However, I've been falling behind in them. Due to the fact it isn't like a regular school where you actually have to walk from classroom to classroom, I've been lacking in time management. I honestly don't have that much to do in terms of a job or sports, so it might sound a bit crazy. I was still out-of-state when the school year began, under the supervision of my grandparents. They typically like to take me to my cousins' house and restaurants whenever we're there so it can be easy to get off track. I was beginning the school year off great until they started taking me to a lot of family things and that's where I started falling behind. I managed to keep generally-okay grades for the first semester, besides Algebra and History. I had to drop out of History completely because I didn't have enough work done and I had to repeat the first semester of Algebra for 2nd semester, taking the 2nd half of Algebra during the summertime. During this whole year, a lot of has changed. My former best friend left me and I gained an even closer friend, one who I now acknowledge as my partner. I've been spending a lot of time, if not all of it, with them and I want to continue to do that. We stay up until 1-5AM on most nights, so it really does take a toll on my sleep schedule and everything-schedule. I've begun just talking to them instead of actually doing any work, so entire days go by with no work at all done. In fact, I should probably be finishing up right now. As of right now in the 2nd semester, I'm behind in every class I have. The entire school ends in the first week of June and I have a deadline to finish all my courses by May 27th at the latest. I've been needing some advice or any form of help for this. I procrastinate a lot and can easily get distracted so it's hard for me to just be at a constant flow of finishing all the assignments. On top of that, almost every couple of days, my mom comes in to lecture me about how if I fail 9th grade, I'll probably have to repeat it and won't get into college. I have no clue how true this actually is as far as the college and career aspect goes. I'd like to finish it all but it becomes difficult given the circumstances. Especially considering all of them, require at least one, if not multiple assignments where I have to call the teachers over the phone. I can't even bring myself to ask my family for things sometimes, so you can imagine I'm anxious whenever I have to do these (which are required) as well. I'd appreciate any help.

...See more I think I found this website by googling forums to help with anxiety. I was a member here a while ago on one of my old email addresses. Can't seem to find that account and I don't think I did much with it to begin with, and I'm starting over with my new email anyway. I remembered the name of this website because it was pretty simple and I just came right back to it, registering again.
