Are you over 35 and wondering what's next...or even what's left?  I love supporting others as they explore what's ABSOLUTELY POSSIBLE at their age!  As someone who married after 30, had kids and went to grad school and started songwriting, recording, and performing again after 40 and 50...I know what it's like to face a big birthday thinking: "I guess IT will never happen."  (I was SURE that IT wouldn't!!) I

f this is you and you'd like a 1-1 let me know...or maybe we'll meet in the 35+ chat room. (But there's almost always a way to have the essence of what you you dream of...  I've been discovering amazing "second act" finders...people in my family and elsewhere who found a way to live their dreams.)

I'm a trained active listener (with a masters in counseling...but here on 7cups as an active listener rather than a counselor) who's been well-tenderized by life but is curious and hopeful about the future, yours as well as mine. I've been married 30+ years (took a lot of time and tears to find the right love!) and have two young adult sons (one is transgender, FTM, and gay. And married.) As a family, we've faced challenges like depression and bullying but we stay close and love to develop and play games. My work has included being a pro songwriter, editor, and ESL teacher but I am moving toward coaching and writing.

I have lived on both US coasts and in Japan and enjoy talking with people from everywhere, even if English isn't your first language. And having lived in San Francisco, I'm rarely shocked by anything people say or do...

Always helpful and very insightful, thank you!
Excellent Listener!
You ask great questions. Thank you.
GentleMom was honestly so great to talk to - she was just the ear I needed to listen to me! She didn't give advice, of course, but she challenged me with questions that made me critically think about the situation at hand instead of falling into a pit of "life sucks so I might as well suck too."
Thank you, Gentlemom, from the bottom of my heart.
I found her talk extremely helpful and she gave me wonderful feedback and insight on how to better myself and have a positive future :)
A kind, supporting and understanding person. Made my day much more better.
Had a session with GentleMom, which was my second. She asked pertinent questions regarding an issue I am still working through and asked about goals I have for resolving the conflicts I have been working on. GentleMom is a GREAT listener with a wonderful sense of humor, which I appreciate. She is helping me focus toward an outcome that works for me instead of me being stuck in an old 'story' that doesn't work for me. Her questions helped me see a different perspective on the situations I am dealing with, which is helping me form some outcomes that will help me in the long term. GentleMom is a wonderful listener who will cut to the chase. I highly recommend her!
Found GentleMom when my previous listener became unavailable to help me with a difficult family member issue we planned to work through before an upcoming family event. Sent a message on Monday to schedule a chat/session, and got a response later that day. We scheduled a chat time, which took place today. GentleMom is a good listener and offered some perspectives about the difficult family member that had not occurred to me, which was helpful. She is also funny which I appreciate! GentleMom provided wonderful feedback, is supportive of my path toward well being and noted that there are many people who do not even begin the hard work of self care/personal fulfillment, which I found encouraging. I highly recommend working with GentleMom!
GentleMom was fantastic. I felt listened to and understood. I walked away feeling uplifted, hopeful, and with a new perspective.
Great listener. Listened to me ramble on, and didn't judge at all. I feel much better for having chatted with her, and she helped me consider things that I hadn't before. A great help in this trek to figure out where I'm at.
Amazing at listening, I would definitely recommend her to anyone :)
