Guillain-Barre and my husband

...See more The week of Thanksgiving I tested positive for COVID and then the following week while I was finishing my quarantine my husband came down with COVID. As the COVID symptoms subsided he had new symptoms like double vision, muscle weakness, unsteady gait, muscle pain, nausea, and anxiety. I finally got him to go to the hospital and they found out he had Guillain-Barre, the Miller Fisher variant. So he was hospitalized for 4 days and given IVIG during that time. Meanwhile I'm at home taking care of the house, my two kids(8 and 5 year olds. My 8 year old is special needs and also has behavioral problems), my two cats who have their own medical problems, and trying to get over my "long haul" COVID symptoms(brain fog, fatigue, out of breath easily). After the 4 days he came home, last Sunday. Every day it seemed he was doing better. He was getting more energy, moving around a lot more and a lot easier(didn't even need his cane most of the time but kept it handy just in case), but then Saturday a new symptom appeared. Muscle weakness in his face. His lip and the tip of his tongue. It was coming and going, not lasting all day, and his mother who is a nurse said it was most likely related to the Guillain-Barre. This morning he tried contacting his neurologist but he couldn't get through to the office. So he called his own doctor. His GP is out of the office for the day, so the office tried contacting the neurologists office themselves. Well, the neurologist is off this whole week. So they advised he go to the ER again so they can rule out anything serious and see if it's just to do with his Guillain-Barre. He seemed like he was getting better and now this! We are 5 days away from Christmas and I'm terrified they'll admit him for some reason again. I've done everything from decorating the entire house to wrapping every gift by myself and I just really hope and pray they will check him out, say it's just related, and send him home. I have been so stressed out. I've been crying almost every day. My kids don't really understand they just know that dad was gone and they were angry about it. And now when they come home from school I have to tell them he's gone to the hospital again. His muscle pain was even getting better and he slept almost the whole night last night for the first time in weeks. I just want him home and better. And i want to be able to relax a bit.
