Bio
I am a retired U.S. Army veteran with extensive life experience navigating challenges related to military service, career transitions, work-life balance, leadership, stress management, and personal growth. Throughout my career and personal journey, I have developed a deep understanding of resilience, perseverance, and the importance of having a supportive person who truly listens.
I am also a mental health and whole health coach, and I am scheduled to apply for my Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT) license next month after graduating from Pepperdine University. I have completed over 370 direct client contact hours providing mental health therapy services to veterans, families, and children in a clinical setting. My experience includes supporting individuals experiencing PTSD, anxiety, depression, stress, ADHD, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, psychosis, substance use challenges, relationship difficulties, and life transitions.
My approach is compassionate, nonjudgmental, and strengths-based. I believe every person deserves a safe space where they can be heard, understood, and supported. I have experience using evidence-based approaches, including cognitive restructuring, motivational interviewing, acceptance and commitment strategies, dialectical behavior skills, trauma-informed care, and supportive counseling techniques.
Beyond my professional training, I bring years of real-world experience helping people overcome adversity, rebuild confidence, and find meaning during difficult seasons of life. I am a patient and empathetic listener who values meeting people where they are and providing encouragement, understanding, and practical support. I would be honored to volunteer with 7 Cups and offer a compassionate presence to individuals who simply need someone to listen.
