🌿 Who I Am

My name is Maria. I’m 16 years old, and I carry a story that has shaped how I see family, trust, and myself.

🌀 Life Turned Inside Out

When I was 11, my family broke apart. Not just through a divorce, but through betrayal, silence, and decisions that left cracks too deep to ignore. I had to choose which parent to live with — a decision no child should ever have to make.

At first, it felt like I chose right. I was included, listened to, even loved. For a while, everything seemed stable. But then came the fights, the silence, the sudden disappearances. Someone left — without goodbye, without explanation. And everything changed.

They came back like nothing had happened. But I hadn’t forgotten. I couldn’t.

💔 Losing Trust, Bit by Bit

From that point on, the connection between me and that person was cold. Forced. I tried to act normal, but deep down I felt betrayed — and not just by them, but by the person who was supposed to protect me.

Still, I kept quiet. I hoped things would settle. But then I saw something I wasn’t meant to. Private messages, private photos, and worst of all — my own words, shared behind my back. Messages I had written in trust. Promises that were broken.

Now even my conversations don’t feel safe anymore. Even face-to-face moments feel watched, repeated, judged. And when I try to speak up, my voice breaks. The words stay stuck inside me. I cry, and nothing changes.

🚫 Where I Stand

They want to get married. They want a baby. Everyone says it’s not such a big deal, but I’ve seen how easily a child can get lost in a mess like this — like my sibling did. I can’t accept it.

Not because I’m jealous or selfish, but because I know what it feels like to be replaced, ignored, and silenced.

I believe that when someone walks away once, they will do it again. And I won’t build trust on shaky ground.

🧠 What This Made Me

I’m someone who:

  • Values honesty more than comfort.

  • Can’t pretend everything is okay when it’s not.

  • Keeps going even when I’m hurting.

  • Refuses to stay silent just to keep the peace.

I’m not fragile. I’m just tired of acting like nothing hurts.

I’m not bitter. I’m just done giving second chances to people who don’t deserve them.

I’m not lost. I’m just learning to protect the parts of me that still believe in love and loyalty.

And So — This Is Me

Not perfect. Not loud. Not finished.

But real.

And if I’ve learned anything, it’s this:

My voice matters, even if it shakes.

And my story deserves to be heard.
