My work allows for a flexible schedule.  I want to offer my time to provide a supportive, judgment-free space where one can share what’s on their mind and feel heard.  I genuinely enjoy talking with people and being there when someone just needs to vent or have someone listen.

Lonely (non christian friends)

...See more I'm feeling down and lonely. I was recently told that my actions, while trying to resolve a fist fight, was being laughed at by my friends.  I was out having lunch with 2 of my friends last year. The next table was being obnoxiously loud. One of my friends rudely told them off. The group at the other table verbally pushed back so my friend, thinking he can intimidate them, stood up abruptly. It resulted in a 3 vs 1 fight of tackling and kicking. I approached one of the men from the other table and asked if one of them can try to stop the fight. He tried but it took awhile for all of them to break away from the fight. Things calmed down a bit and I, along with my other friend who was not involved in the fight, stood with the wait staff between my beat up friend and the 3 men. I said a lot of things to distract them from going at each other again. Things like "how is this going to end", "if you you all keep fighting the police will have to be involved", etc. There were a lot of cursing coming from the 3 men directed at my friend. I apologized for my friend's action of standing up to intimidate them, my friend had calmed down at this point and apologized and tried to shake hands with the angry men. More cursing. This wasn't in the US but in a predominantly catholic country. So I said "hey this is just the enemy trying to create more conflict". That appeared to calm one of the men down and he just sat down and looked pensive. However, the angriest one yelled back and said "stop with your bs (full word)".  I was put off but that was okay with me because his posture didn't look like he was ready to lunge. Instead, it became a "staring contest" between the 3 men and my friend who was standing behind me. After a few minutes, the angriest man said, "we're going to leave first". There were no more threats coming from them and they got in their car and left. That was that. Well, my friends recently had a party and all of them think it's laughable that I uttered a christian phrase. See, no one says things like that in our country unless it's coming from a catholic priest.  So i heard this news today that more than 10 of my friends were laughing at me for what I said.  It hurts and i don't understand, After the incident, my 2 friends were so thankful that I tried to stop the fight. Yes, we were laughing at me being cussed out and told "stop with my bs" and we were also amused that I put on my Christian hat (I've only been a Christian for 2 years). I thought that change was being celebrated and not laughed at.  I'm confused that 2 of my friends who knew what happened would encourage this behavior. I have sent our group chat a message and asked what was it that I did that was funny? I want to see what they say and determine what kind of friends they actually are.
