Feeling not enough
Relationship Stress / by IfeeldownandIneedhelp

...See more It’s my first time in a relationship, I’m 22, on the way to 23. We met by accident, we weren’t looking for any relationship. Most of the times things are good between me and my boyfriend. I love him a lot, I care about him, and I wish to always give him the best and all the love I have in me. He is a wonderful person to me, he at times makes me feel good by some small gestures, he makes me smile and laugh a lot, and I am comfortable with him to the point i showed him my most vulnerable moments, I shared my life and feelings with him. He always reassures me, and we are growing together. I’m there for him always, no matter what, and he’s there for me too. At times though, we have had arguments, mostly miscommunications or misunderstandings. When those happened, he told me that I was the cause of them, and this in some way got imprinted in my mind. At times it was really my fault, because I didn’t express myself clearly, but other times I know it wasn’t my fault. one time I asked him if what he says is what he really thinks, or if he says them just out of anger. He said it’s out of anger, and that he doesn’t really feel like I’m always the cause of issues. But it got imprinted in my mind. And the times those issues and things happen, I end up feeling like I’m always the fault, the wrong person, because I give much weight to his words. Yesterday he felt a type of way about me, after an issue between us. He told me I’m not the fault. But I still felt bad because of the past situations between us and what happens after them. deep down I have this feeling about myself, where I wonder “am I really the cause of problems?” “Am I a wrong person?” “Is the fault mine?”. And I then start feeling like a failure, because probably the fault is mine for not being able to have him understand how much I care about him, how much I love him, how I’m always there for him, and more. And I ask myself “am I good enough? Am I doing enough?” I always try, every day, because I wish to give him my whole self. But there’s this feeling of “not being enough” at times. Is it normal, when you care a lot about a person, to feel like wanting to do a lot for them, but having this feeling of not being enough and not doing enough?
