Bio

Hi there, I am Jamie-Lee, an aspiring clinical psychologist currently studying for my degree in psychology. I’ve recently earned my Certificate of Higher Education in Psychology, and I’m passionate about applying my knowledge to make a positive impact in the mental health sector.

My professional experience includes supporting individuals with ADHD, autism, and specific learning difficulties (SPLD). I’m dedicated to understanding and addressing diverse mental health needs, and I approach each situation with empathy and a commitment to finding the best support strategies.

On a personal level, I’ve navigated my own mental health journey, facing challenges such as depression, anxiety, and social anxiety. Having experienced these struggles firsthand, I know how difficult it can be to reach out for help and rebuild oneself. My journey has taught me resilience and compassion, and I am eager to offer support to others who may be going through similar challenges.

I’m here to listen, support, and offer guidance in any way I can. Whether you’re looking for someone to talk to or need help navigating your own path, I’m committed to providing a safe and understanding space for you. Let’s work together to find the support and solutions that work best for you.

...See more Anxiety can feel overwhelming at times, but it’s important to remember that you're not alone in this. Anxiety is a natural response to stress, but when it becomes persistent, it can affect your daily life. Over the years, I’ve learned that coping with anxiety is not about eliminating it altogether but managing it effectively. My own journey with anxiety has been a winding road, filled with highs and lows. It’s taken time, patience, and self-compassion to find the balance, and I’m still learning every day. If you’re struggling with anxiety, there are practical ways to cope. * Deep breathing exercises can calm the body’s fight-or-flight response, grounding you in the present moment. * Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) can help identify negative thought patterns and reframe them in a more constructive way. * Physical activity, even something as simple as a walk, can significantly reduce anxiety by releasing endorphins. Remember, it’s also okay to take breaks and seek support when needed. Talking to a trusted friend, therapist, or support group can make all the difference. It’s important to be gentle with yourself. Healing doesn’t happen overnight, and that’s okay. You are allowed to take your time. As the famous writer Anne Lamott once said, “My mind is my biggest enemy—I have to be very gentle with it and protect it from the bullying of my thoughts.” Let’s remember that progress is progress, no matter how small.
