...See more Hello all! my name is Jenni and I am a recovered available sponsor who sponsors directly from the Big Book of AA. i say recovered because working the steps has helped me live a sane life—a life that no longer revolves around my food, my body image, my weight ALL THE TIME. I struggled trying diet after diet, all kinds of therapy, exercise, crystals, meditation, food plans, mindful eating, self help, exercise plans; I restricted, overexercised and taxed my body to the point of injury many times. I was often suicidal and wanted to die. My life was a disaster—I was in one failed relationship after the next, di satisfied with work, angry at everyone, at times both friendless and jobless. And I hated myself. All the time. Today I work the steps and do practical actions to be of service to others. I get out of self in this way and it has helped relieve my compulsion around food/weight like nothing else. This was my experience and its always a pleasure to share. I respect all peoples beliefs and means of recovery. This is just what worked and is working for me.
