Bio
I believe that we all have our problems, insecurities and secrets, and that's OK. What truly matters is what we choose to do with them. Are we letting them win us over? If you pass by my profile, I'd like you to take some time and reflect upon the question "are you letting your problems define you?".
One of the philosophies that guides my practice is the concept of shared humanity which holds that we are all connected by the shared experience of simply being human. I believe that being cognizant of the reality that all humans share similar experiences and respond to experiences in similar ways helps me to be empathetic, compassionate, and a very human therapist/listener.
Here are some quotes by my favorite author, psychiatrist and holocaust survivor, Viktor Frankl.
"When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves."
"Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms—to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way."
"Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom."
