That means the platform should consider the psychological experience of both sides: • the member seeking support • the listener providing emotional support  Sometimes a chat suddenly disappears completely between talking stage and the member’s username is no longer visible. When this happens, I’m left without any indication of what actually occurred. From my perspective, this creates a few challenges. When a chat suddenly disappears, it creates an information gap. I cannot tell whether the member blocked me, deleted their account, or if the platform removed the account. It also creates emotional ambiguity. As a listener, I invest time and empathy into conversations, and when they end without explanation, it leaves a sense of uncertainty. I think a small design change could reduce this confusion while still protecting privacy. For example, the platform could simply show a short status message when a chat ends, such as  “Account deleted,”  "member blocked you" or “Account unavailable.” Since 7 Cups is built around human connection and emotional support, even small improvements in transparency could make the experience feel more considerate and balanced for both members and listeners.

...See more Hi everyone, I wanted to share something personal about my journey here on 7 Cups. When I first joined, I wasn’t a listener — I was just a member searching for someone who could truly understand me. I spoke to many listeners, but honestly, I didn’t feel much better after most of those chats. Then one day, a listener took my chat. She was different. She really listened, she was kind, and she made me feel safe and valued. For the first time, I felt lighter inside. That moment changed my perception — I realized that there are genuinely good people in this world. Her kindness inspired me. I thought to myself, I want to be that person in someone else’s life — the kind of person I wished I had more often in my own. That’s when I decided to become a listener. I even chose the username Kindheart to remind myself of that mission. With time, my own life challenges and past trauma have made it hard for me to always be available for chats. Sometimes it feels heavy, and I struggle. But even when I step back, the inspiration that listener gave me still lives in my heart.  I share this because I believe even a single act of genuine kindness can change someone’s life — just like it did mine. And maybe, if you’re reading this, you can remember that even if you don’t feel like you’re making a big difference, you might be the reason someone keeps believing in goodness. 💙 One listener once gave me hope.
