My name is Leslie. I am a 55 year old mother of three grown children and Nana to three grandchildren with another one on the way. I am a person living in long-term recovery and will celebrate 7 years sober in June. I currently work full time at UAB with pregnant women who struggle with substance use disorders. I am also in school to complete a degree in Social Work. This service work was recommended as SW 222 Lab assignment at UAB and I will admit I had never heard of this organization before. I have viewed the welcome video and cannot believe what a wonderful idea you have created and that I did not know about it. I am looking forward to being a Listener and learning more.
