Hey, you can call me Yunus. I'm from the Netherlands. I struggled with severe emotional pain for over 12 years, from age 15 to 27. I'm 29 now, and I never would have believed this day would come, where things actually look better for me. It's a wonder, really.
I've come to believe that it's okay to be in hard times, and that—strangely, almost unbelievably—life is worth fighting for, and there is light beyond the darkness. I say that with 12 years of intense suffering behind me. Life is worth living, even with its tragedy and its unfairness and that chance is truly possible.
I genuinely believe there's something in everyone that's, I don't know quite how to put it into words... magical, about what people can endure, face, and rise above. I'm still learning what that means, but I think love is the answer. And I think life is worth living, which is sometimes awe-striking, considering what can happen in a single life.
I believe in you. You are worth it, and you are forgiven. Truly, it doesn't matter whether you believe in God or not — you are okay, you are loved, you are beautiful, and you do make a difference in this universe simply by being who you are.
I'm trying my best, with all my shortcomings and my ignorance, to aim for good and for love, whatever that may mean. Whatever you're going through, I hope I can be a listening ear and help you carry it.
