...See more Hey, I am new to the community and wanted to say hi while I shared something I am struggling with. Every term, in my work, Key Workers, such as my self, have to hold parents evenings. The first ever parents evening I did was a state. I ended up crying in front of the parent before I even started to talk. With each one after that, I was able to stop my self from crying but I'm still unstable. My voice gets so shaky, I find I repeat myself a lot and I shake uncontrollably when I'm trying to write something down or pass a pen and paper to the parents. In the next few days, i am doing parents evening again and as always, my anxiety is flaring up. My support senior didn't help the situation when she never did what she said she'd do and it doesn't help when I'm under a lot of stress at work as it is. No matter what I do to calm my nerves, it doesn't help. Nothing helps. I'm able to not cry now but I suddenly become unfocused and can't concentrate on what I need to do next. My paperwork for each parents evening becomes messy because I'm trying to write all my notes down after the meeting but I shake far too much. My chest is at a constant pain at the moment and family issues keep happening. Is there any effective way to stop some of these things? I always get my senior or whoever to tell me who I have like a week before so that I'm able to think of what I need to talk about before I'm due to have the meetings but it isn't enough. Do any of you suffer with work related anxiety?
