...See more There’s something about the night that feels the heaviest. When the world is quiet, when the house is still, and when everyone else is asleep — that’s when the weight of war shows up the loudest. PTSD doesn’t always hit in the middle of the day when you’re busy, distracted, or surrounded by people. It comes creeping in during the dark hours, when you’re left alone with memories that never really fade. The battles I fought overseas ended years ago, but the battles I fight at night haven’t stopped. Some nights, loneliness cuts deeper than anything I carried in combat. It’s a strange feeling — to have served with brothers and sisters by your side, and yet now, in the silence, feel like you’re carrying it all alone. I share this not for pity, but for honesty. There are many of us out here who live this reality every night. If you’re reading this and you feel it too — you’re not alone.
