Bio
Hi there, I'm Lorna, I'm 30 and I'm a trained active listener. I have a varied background in law and CJS (including addiction, mental health and domestic abuse) and do this in my spare time as I genuinely enjoy helping others overcome issues in their lives. I like to think of myself as being a patient, impartial, but no nonsense and direct person who genuinely enjoys helping other people to deal with difficult moments in their life.

I am an openly gay woman who has been out since I was 18 and speak quite openly and passionately about raising awareness of same sex domestic abuse. I understand what it is like to come out to a family that may not necessarily understand or accept it initially, and have experienced discrimination as a result of my orientation as well as surviving an abusive relationship in my early twenties.

In my lifetime I have lived through an abusive childhood, domestic abuse, serious sexual assault, traumatic bereavement and do believe that you can go from being a survivor to a thriver. I understand completely how it feels to be isolated, scared and alone and if I can do something to help take those feelings away from someone else and give them hope, then I can know I did something decent with my own life.

I enjoy giving something back to others who may be isolated or feel alone. Pay it forward and all that :) I work irregular hours in my full time job, so if I'm offline and you feel that I could be of help to you, please send me an offline message and I'll get back to you within 24-48 hours. In an emergency, please call 999 (UK) or 911 (US). If you feel that you are suicidal or feel that there is no point in living and need help NOW, please contact the Samaritans (UK) on 08457909090.
