How to survive the Holidays *After A Recent break up*

...See more I recently went through the first of many holidays this week. (Thanksgiving) single. Here's something I choose to do to cope. 1. I stayed away from triggers ie. Mean, bully, or pushy family dinners. 2. I went to a friend's dinner first and had a great meal without having to talk about my recent brake up. Being with a platonic friend was so nice. Out allowed me to enjoy the first holiday alone but with support! 3. I choose to do dessert with my step dad and man little brothers at the end of the night whom show nothing but love and warmth. 4. I did not cross Any boundaries with my platonic male friend and sat up talking rest of the evening. For this being the first holiday after a two year nightmare I feel great. I treated myself well. Was in great company. Had a wonderful stressless thanksgiving. I would love to hear from others that may have the worse times around the holidays whom did something positive for themselves this thanksgiving. Maybe you have more suggestions for how to survive the next holiday coming like Hanukkah or Christmas. Thanks look forward to hearing from everyone around this though holiday season.
