How do I support someone with ADHD?

...See more My teacher has ADHD (I know because he told us). He is humorous, caring, and very strict on himself and his students. He is one of the best people I know. But lately, he often said he was uncomfortable, and canceled some appointments with his students. Saturday night we were supposed to have class on a previously given problem set, and he did go through a few of them with us, but then he said he couldn't do the problems anymore and ended the class early. Then he canceled Sunday's class and didn't show up on Wednesday's class. He must be suffering from really severe conditions because he is usually a very responsible person and holds himself up to a high standard. So I'm really worried about him. Could anyone give me some idea of what he might be going through, just so I can better understand? My online searches about ADHD were supper unhelpful. How long do those bad days usually last? Does it have anything to do with the change of weather in autumn? And I know he sometimes has headaches. Is this a very common symptom? I would really appreciate your responses. I can't imagine how hard it is for you guys, and you are so so brave and strong to be able to withstand this. Your struggles are valid, seen, and felt with the most tender sincerity. Give yourself space to rest because you deserve it. Sending lots of hugs <3 and sleep well tonight!

How can I give comfort to people in real life??

...See more I'm at a winter camp, and someone there has bipolar and ADHD. We're not particularly close, but I like her and feel sort of responsible for her.😇 Then today, we're asked about our ideas for our musical performance tomorrow, and she lost it. She looked devastated, with her face in her hand, saying she wasn't good at this and she couldn't do it. The professor had a private talk with her, and when she came back, her eyes are red.🥺 When people ask her, she said she was fine, but I know she isn't.😔 I really want to help, but I just don't know how! I'm also a listener here, but saying those things in real life seems weird and awkward, especially as I am really socially awkward.🤔 I have major depression with a seasonal pattern (No official diagnoses because I don't want my parents to spend money on this. My education is too expensive already.). When I'm just sad, I would talk to people to feel better but when I'm in an episode, I wouldn't. Because there is nothing they can do. It's just so dark, and I'm in a black pit, and I can only accept that and wait for it to go away. (I think I'm in the beginning of an episode. This time it's all my fault though. I'm in Hong Kong to get a change of climate, and at first it worked really well. But I was reading novels and playing games and only got two hours of sleep the other night. With the help of coffee, I'm inattentive, wooden and feeling unworthy.😅) So I understand how she might be feeling, but there seems to be nothing I can do to help.😮‍💨 Any advice?💜🤗

...See more Hi awesome people, Today is the first day in the Chinese Lunar New Year. It's wonderful to grow and learn here with all of you wonderful people, and I just want to say happy new year to everybody! 😄💜 As of December 2023, the Chinese Lunar New Year has become one of the United Nations holidays. This year is the dragon year. Although dragons are evil in the western world, they are a symbol of power and prosperity in Chinese traditions. I hope this will be a year of prosperity and good luck for everyone here. 💜💜

Hello and Creating Listener Account

...See more Hi! I just joined 7cups recently and I really love this website. It's so friendly surpportive. I'd love to help others more and improve together, but being an introvert it's hard for me to join in chats or post in forums. So I want to create a listener account. But there's always an error saying "SMS message not sent" while verifying phone number, and I didn't use any of the social medias required to verify your name. I signed up to *** but they suspended my account because I didn't do anything on it. I'm not from the US or UK, and that might be the cause of the error? Has anyone else encountered similar situations? I really don't know what to do, help!
