I attend to counseling services in my community and the church.

Counselling requires a professional relationship that empowers diverse individuals, families, and groups to accomplish mental health, wellness, education, and career goals." Counseling involves helping people make needed changes in ways of thinking, feeling, and it is a service needed to remedy a concern, it helps the client to better self, accept situations and move on with life activity.

A counselor uses various professional techniques to assist the client to have proper self identification. Techniques such as: listening skills, paraphrasing, referral where necessary are essential.

There is a vast difference between a professional counsellor and a person who uses some counselling skills as part of their role, for example as a friend or colleague. A professional counsellor is a highly-trained individual who is able to use a different range of counselling approaches with their clients.
