Roubina Minassian, LMFT

Therapist

About

I am a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist in California. I’ve worked in the field of mental health since I was 22 years old, in the capacity of a therapist since 2006. Although I had been seeing a few clients in my private practice while working in community mental health, in mid 2015 I decided to grow my practice and start a new journey in private practice.

By the beginning of 2016, I was a full time private practice therapist. Since inception, I provided online services and am now moving exclusively to concierge online and in person services. I specialize in addiction and trauma. I have a special interest with working with panic attacks, anxiety, grief and loss, life transitions/adjustment to change, and relationship problems.

When I’m not working, you can find me at live music venues, art shows, playing with my puppy (okay, grown dog), at farmers markets with my husband, refining my foodie taste buds, or at home creating beautiful jewelry from copper wiring.

A Little about My Education and Career Before Private Practice....

I attended California State University of Northridge  where I received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and a Master of  Science Degree in counseling, emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy.   I began my career as a case manager after completing my under graduate  degree, and since have worked in a variety of settings providing  individual, family, and group therapy, both in outpatient, in home, and  inpatient facilities.

My  work in community mental health services was very fulfilling, and I worked in some of the most intensive residential and field based  services within Los Angeles County.  One of my last roles was as a  Program Manager of a brand new program within Los Angeles County  (Intensive Field Capable Clinical Services), where I worked alongside  my director to both develop the structure of the intensity of services,  and recruit and train the staff assigned to this program.  Following  that, I was an Assistant Director for Community Based Services, which  included outpatient, school based, and intensive home based  services (supervising both clinicians and clinical supervisors).

In  addition to my work providing services, supervising, and training in  community mental health services, I have worked as a consultant to Drug  and Alcohol programs. My work as a consultant included identifying and  developing curriculum for drug and alcohol abuse counselors, developing  assessment tools and treatment plans, along with providing supervision  to counselors delivering the services.
