Moving Anxiety

...See more So, I have a ton on my plate at the moment causing me anxiety. This may end up being quite the novel, ha ha. Right now, I'm in the middle of a very short-notice move four hours away to start a new job and move in with my long-distance partner. I'm extremely excited to be moving in together, but in the short-term (a year or two), we'll just be renting a single bedroom in a shared house. In my first week or two after starting work, he and I will just be sharing his *current* tiny room and my cats will need to have someone popping in to care for them. Right now, I have a house entirely to myself with my three cats. My stuff definitely doesn't fill the space (the second bedroom has been being remodeled and the sunroom has had a leaking roof most of my time here, not to mention I've been broke since my divorce and have already gone through a few purges since then), but sharing a single bedroom as storage with another person still means a *lot* of downsizing. I'm a maker, I craft things, so I already see that most of my stuff surviving the move will be related to sewing, knitting, and crochet. I don't have a lot of clothes that I'll be keeping due to weight fluctuations, state of repair, and general interest in the outfits at this point in my life. I'm confident I *can* downsize. But the very act of getting rid of your possessions is stressful and emotional. All of this on top of the fact that I'm exiting an abusive workplace. My employer had been absolutely terrible since the new year, including deliberately hiding information from me about how my job would change after a promotion. Where I had some flexibility in my schedule availability to travel on Sat/Sun to see my partner at least once a month, suddenly I had no flex. I wouldn't receive vacation hours until my one year anniversary. My health benefits wouldn't kick in until six months (where I would be *just now*). On top of all of that, my "static schedule" never stayed static, as the store manager was constantly messing up the store's scheduling and my days would be changed last minute for coverage. Obviously, all of that made for a stressful environment that felt actively hostile, and I couldn't even get a relaxing weekend with my partner to help cope with it all. I'm supposed to have four more shifts, my last day being Sunday... but I just finished laundry and I'm honestly considering taking in my uniforms and cutting my notice period short. I feel bad doing that to my coworkers, but I have *so much to do.* - My girl cats need to be spayed now that I have my tax refund - I need to squeeze in one last eye exam with the doctor I've been seeing for over 20 years - I need to have a serious talk with my mother about help getting a debt consolidation loan; my ex-husband messed up my credit, but I'm in a place now where I can afford the large lump consolidated payments and it'll really simplify my life post-move to only need to track one payment (I'd just need a cosigner) All on top of starting the sewing on two bodices for a huge LARP campout we'll have at the end of March, getting my things packed, and arranging to donate anything that isn't making the cut. (Bodice-sewing will actually be pretty soothing, though, once I can calm my nerves enough to cut and mark the fabric accurately.) Does anyone have tips on how to cope with a big, downsizing move on such short notice? I feel really guilty every time I even attempt to relax in the evenings or even remotely consider moving up my separation date to give myself more time.
