hi there! i'm glad you found me!

About Me:
My name is Stephanie! Since coming here in 2015 I experienced lots of support from other members and listeners. Helping people is part of my job, and so I thought I could be helpful to others here too, so I became a listener. I was very active in the community - having being a former peer supporter and group moderator - but I sadly had to give these up, because life! I've since returned and would love to lend my listening ear to those who need it.

how I can support you:

To ensure I am the best listener for you, make clear what you wish to discuss.
• 1 Hour Chats
To be fair to everyone, we can chat for up to 1 hour a day.
• Group Support
I spend a lot of time in group chats! Come say hi!

I will check in periodically if we haven't spoken recently.

Since we do not know 100% of a person's situation, giving advice is not something we can do. We are shoulders to cry on - friends who are there for you. We can guide you to make your own decisions.

...See more Hi everyone! I thought I'd introduce myself and share my story. I hope it can help you in some way! :) Although I was only "officially" diagnosed with depression in September, it has had a hold of me for much longer than that. I'm a student children's nurse and I am just away to qualify, but cannot start my new nursing job until I do. Being at home all the time really crushed me, and being depressed made things ten times worse. I found 7 cups whilst blogging on Tumblr and I joined as a member. I met many new people who have helped me through my depression. I decided to give something back to the community and I became a listener. I absolutely love being a listener. I care for a living and it's great being able to help people where I can. I recently earned my Peer Support badge and I'm working towards becoming a moderator. There are so many opportunities here and it keeps me busy. Even though I am still suffering from depression myself, it in no way impacts my abilities as a listener. It's something people often wonder about, but like everyone, we all have our bad days and that would be the time for a self care day for myself! I am always very proud of what I do, no matter how big or small the things I achieve. Feel free to ask me anything. I look forward to hearing everyone's responses! :)

steph is so great. shes very reassuring and helps you find solutions to your problems. even if your problems dont seem that big she gives you a shoulder to cry on and helps you feel better
