Hey there! You can call me Lo!

I'm a mom to two: one almost teen and one teen. I have 3 dogs and 2 cats, I enjoy helping people and have personal experience with a lot of different tough topics, off the top of my head break ups, difficult family situations, abuse, addiction, and parenting struggles. I'm sure there's more and I'm always willing to listen even if it's something I don't have personal experience - sometimes you just need to vent and get things off your chest. If I don't have any persosnal experience I will let you know and then it's up to you if you'd like to continue chatting or find another listener, the most important thing to me is you find a safe space and connect with someone. I enjoy reading, playing with my dogs, being near the water - especially the ocean (except I'm afraid of waves, lol) and like I said before - helping people. If I'm online, feel free to chat, or leave me a message! 

If the circle on my profile picture is red I am either offline, busy, or  possibly on a break, but breaks I will update here. Feel free to leave a message and I will get back to you when I can. If I respond expect responses to be delayed.

If the circle is orange, I'm working on something, or I am in a chatroom. Again, feel free to try me as I likely will be able to respond, but responses will be delayed.

If it's green I am here and I can take chats. If I have a time limit I will let you know. If for some reason your first message the response isn't quick, I am probably away from the computer for a moment (though I usually try to switch to yellow) or your chat got buried which sometimes happens randomly. Please wait five minutes and try again.

Favorite Childhood movie(s)?

...See more Lately I've been on a kick watching favorite movies from my childhood - specifically kids movies that are animated mostly. I thought it would be fun to hear from others what their's are as it may remind me of something I forgot, and it might be fun to see how they vary based on different ages. A few of mine are: -Ferngully - Land Before Time (my favorite. Now my dog reminds me so much of Spike 😂) - Rock A Doodle - All Dogs Go To Heaven (I feel us 80's babies had some dark themes in a lot of our movies, lol) -Wild Hearts Can't Be Broken (not animated but I also love this movie) -The Princess Bride (obviously also not animated) I also love pretty much all Disney/Pixar Movies but to save time here are my top three from childhood: -Little Mermaid (my Dad died when I was young but I remember sitting in his lap seeing this movie and singing Kiss The Girl with him after it was over so it's got a sentimental value as well) -Beauty and the Beast (I am Belle) -Toy Story (I remember how amazed I was with it's detail). What about you? (I know all the top I listed are available in the US on Netflix, Tubi or Disney Plus if you're interested in where to stream check out those platforms. Tubi is free!) I'm guessing the last three are on Disney Plus but haven't looked.)

...See more Hi All! Piggy backing off @sirenAngel post about what do you like to read I am wondering what movie based on a book did you find that was equal to or better than the book? Or, on the flip side what movie as a book lover do you really feel they messed up? For me, I think the Notebook movie was better than the book. I also think Netflix has done a pretty decent job with some YA adaptations (Along For The Ride by Sarah Dessen comes to mind). I've seen a lot of disappointing movies but what really let me down was Memoirs of a Geisha. One of my favorite books and the movie while beautiful didn't do the story justice imo.

...See more I'm an incurable insomniac and it gets a little lonely/boring at night. I usually read or watch tv, but sometimes that's boring (also with TV, I don't watch a ton, so when I go through what's on my DVR I'm stuck. I also watch a lot of true crime stuff and have a tendency to spook myself which isn't good when it's night and you're alone.) Anyway, I had started this weird project of posting ads in random towns on Craigslist so I could talk to people across the country/world - I like learning about people and cultures and it kept me busy. One of the people I talked to mentioned 7 cups. I had never heard of it, so I googled it. I wasn't comfortable talking to someone, so I decided to sign up as a listener instead as it's a lot like what I'm going to school for.
