Hello! Call me Snail9. I like to listen, and to talk to people. I've been through a lot. I traveled the planet and was in military service, for almost a decade. Not the nastiest of places, but some countries where you got to be alert and aware, or you can become a statistic. I've been through some traumatic experiences in hostile fire zones. I've been in, and helped people during a major earthquake. After all of that, it was pretty stressful, to cope, I started drinking heavily. I went to alcohol rehabilitation in the Navy, got out of the Navy a year later, and I've been sober for 20 years. After the military, I studied Physics, and Asian Religions in college. Now I'm middle-aged, retired on disability, dealing with life, on my own journey of compassion, living the quiet life, writing. I have a supportive wife..

In my spare time, I enjoy reading and watching science fiction films. I'm a big fan of all of those shows and films. Star Trek, Star Wars, Battlestar Galactica.
