47yo wife and mom of 4. Have bipolar 1 and generalized anxiety. Life is good, but I struggle sometimes, as do all.

...See more One of my adult children (20) has major depressive disorder and severe anxiety. He is struggling greatly just now. Really, always. We can’t get him to go to school or get a job, or even to leave the house most of the time. He’s in therapy regularly, and was hospitalized last fall. I feel like having purpose, like a job, would help. But he thinks he needs to get better first. I think he may need to be hospitalized again first, though. It’s hard being a mama sometimes.

...See more Yesterday a cashier gave me the senior discount. Today my husband got a cane due to knee problems. I’m 48, he’s 51. I don’t consider us that old, but apparently we’re getting there. It’s kind of a downer. I’m coming off a recent hospitalization, needed my bipolar meds adjusted. Facing life can be hard after that insulated environment sometimes.
