...See more I live Macedonia, Republic of North Macedonia is our new name actualy. It is on the Balkans and that is an area prone to seismic activity. Not like Japan or Chile bit we do have quakes up to 7 degrees. My city, the capital had gone trough a big one 50 years ago, a 6.3 i think and there was a lot of damage. The whole city was leveled everybody says but not one apartment building colapsed, houses build with hay and mud are still standing so i don't where is that ralk coming from. Of course there was damage but it is exagareted purposly. Sorry if i misspel some words. So i love in a building that was build right after that quake, when rhe reglations were the strict and everything had to be build to code. That is the reaaon we bought the apartment. Month before we moved in a 5.3 struck aaand that is when my fears and phodia starts. It bothers with my everyday life. I know i have nothing to worry about. First, the building is build to withstand those stuff. Second, the strongest erthquake that could happen here is like the one 50 years ago and in that case my building would have minimum to no damage. Third, that kind of quake has return oeriod of 500 years, yes 5 centuries. Thst means it wont hapen for 450 year give or take. The ones like the one who trigered my fears are hapening once in 100 years, so no quakes biger then 5 for 100 more years. And the ones that are around 4 hapen once in 10 years. There was one the morning of my wedding day and I did not even felt it. And yet I leave in fear....
