...See more I'm JJ, 24, from UK. I'd really like to get some help on my current situation. My current girlfriend and I have been together for only 5 months, we live around 10 miles from each other and she works days and I work nights so we really only get to spend time with each other on the weekends. The first few weeks of us being together where great however unlike myself she has never been in a relationship before so she's (as I expected and is completely understandably) very clingy. Phones me every chance possible when I'm not at work, she says shes fine with the idea of me going for a drink on a friday with the lads. But then tries to call me all night and get annoyed when the calls go to answer phone because I have to turn my phone off. Now shes a lovely girl and her family are really nice people. She has a pretty good job very financially stable etc. Heres the rough part. About a month ago I started messaging and old friend who I had a bit of a thing with around 5 years ago. Now as sad as it sounds this girl has always been the one person I'd say I've always wanted to be with. And even though weve been speaking again for a month it's really nothing sinister. I'd never cheat on my girlfriend, I know it would break her heart and even though I feel myself falling more and more out of 'love' with her. I find it so hard to tell her I want us to break up. Shes told me before she would kill herself if I left her. I hate the whole situation I've got myself in. Its stressing me out so much. I mean I feel awful for lying to them both about each other. But what do I do. Obviously theres a risk of it not working out with this 'old friend' but I just dont feel the same way about my girlfriend. I'm scared of how it will affect her. I want to do it in the nicest way possible. Her parents and I get on really well and I just feel like I'd be a massive disappointment to them.
