Hello, fellow journeyers. So glad you stopped by. I love people and am a retired Peer Support Specialist and Autism and Special Needs Living skills instructor. I have just recently been diagnosed with a Dissociative disorder that I am presently working on. I enjoy many kinds of DIY projects. I am married and have one living adult daughter.

...See more Never realized how analytical my thought processing was until today. I am still trying to find out how and when this thought process developed and how it serves me. In my mind, I have determined that my ideal of this characteristic was used as a safety net for evaluating my problems or interactions and relationships. I am not sure why I feel that everything has to be either black or white or must have a common denominator to add up. However, I am finding this not to be so true. Maybe some things are just meant to be accepted and not judged or analyzed. Maybe overanalyzing; I'm just not sure. Does anyone know how to help me solve this complex question? What is your take on this? .

...See more DIY Tricks and Tips Do you have a draft door? Braid some plastic grocery bags together and seal the gap. Take a pair of tights, Long socks, stockings, or old leggings. Fill with rice or dry beans, pour them into whichever you choose, and lay it at the bottom of your door. This will stop a draft. Stains on a wooden table: Mix a tablespoon of instant coffee and add a few teaspoons of water. Paint it on the scratch and seal it with silicone or polyurethane. Do you know any DIY hacks? Do you know how to patch a hole in your wall?

This post is about ways to help us work on how we think or feel about the things past and present that have hurt us. This is a simple way to begin to examine the thoughts. And feelings that the brain tends to hold on to. Negative words seem more accessible to focus on than positive things. How do we begin to take control of our minds? Let me explain a process that might be helpful. Catch, Check, and Change negative words: Whenever you get a negative thought or feeling, Examine where that feeling is coming from.  * Can you feel it in your body?  * What does it feel like? * What happened to trigger that feeling? What was your response after writing this down or just answering the questions? Does the reaction align with your values and morals, or does it no longer serve you?  Now, rewrite it to a positive. Practice daily to train our brains so that we Are the captains of our own ship. DIy Bird-bath from Elephant-ear plant

...See more Elephant ear Plant made into the concrete bird bath.   This is what it looked like before I painted it. The green is the elephant ear leaf. When the concrete hardens, the veins and all the imprints of the leaf are left in the concrete. I left a small hole where the stem of the elephant ear stem was to run a tube into it and hid the pump behind it. The birds love it❤️

...See more Trauma Forum December 7th-14th        Hello, all of you. I am so glad that you are here. Today, I thought we would Honor all of you who celebrate Hanukkah. Some of us are unfamiliar with the celebration of this Jewish holiday, so I would like to post some informative information here and support all of you who Celebrate this festive holiday. Hanukkah is also called the Feast of Dedication or the Festival of Lights. It is celebrated for eight days. The picture above shows a Menorah: one candle is lit each night, and one holder for the person's candle to be placed in for lighting the other eight candles.  Why It is celebrated: The rededication of the second Temple, which Seleucid King Antiochus had desecrated. The Jews Fought for the right to practice what they believed in and won that right. So, to commemorate this rededication of the Temple. These eight days are used to celebrate with family and others by doing religious acts such as A Family Meal together, Special foods, and rituals that the families have carried on. It is a time of gift-giving and remembering, much like our Christmas. This is just barely touching the surface of such a great Holiday. How do you celebrate Hanukkah? What are you looking forward to?
