...See more Hello. I'm new here, but came to reach out for support and to acknowledge my alcohol dependency. I have been drinking pretty much daily for 10+ years. Occasionally the drinking is minimal, but far too often it is in excess, and almost always exceeds the 'daily recommended' amount by far. It is severly impacting personal relationships, has caused me to miss work and other commitments, and as I am approaching my mid 40s, is having an impact on my health. It has become the focal point of almost all of my social interactions, and is often the first thing I will do when I get home after a busy day. When I'm not drinking or otherwise occupied, I find myself fighting cravings almost constantly. I'm making this public (albeit anonymous) statement to myself, to acknowledge my problem. Small steps, I guess...
