...See more I'm confused about a recent interaction with a woman and would like some advice For context I work in recruitment and about 3 weeks ago a woman connected in with me on LinkedIn. I assumed she was looking for a new job (her profile mentioned being open to new opportunities) but she sent me a bunch of personal questions (travel, teasing, etc) without discussing any work-related content When she found out I had a meeting near where she worked, she asked me out for coffee. I found her to be great company, she did mention some work related chats (a referral and mentioned a potential move to Germany) however 99% of the meeting was her having fun and joking. From here she messaged me daily. I wanted to arrange another meeting with her because she works for a huge tech company which could equal a big new business opportunity for me. She turned down the coffee proposal but a few days later when I proposed drinks she said yes. After thinking it through I had a bad feeling and thought maybe she wasn't looking for a professional relationship and something else. I turned her down and told her I have a girlfriend and suggested it's not a good idea to keep texting me unless there's business involved. She wrote back and agreed. She also said that "I was just looking for connections in the industry. Sorry if this caused you confusion" I'm wondering if you think she's being honest or she just wrote that because I turned down drinks and she feels a bit hurt by it? I'd also be interested to gauge if you feel she was looking for more of a dating scenario? She's a great lead but I dont want to send mixed signals
