...See more I'm not LGBT, but have serious problems I think an LGBT experience listener could help me process. I'm terrified to seek help in person, so maybe online would be best, even if I have to pay for someone's time. 1. I suffer most of my adult life from ED cause by an old physical trauma, and remain single primarily because of this. For decades I buried myself in career and hobbies, but now that I'm older with fewer social options I'd actually want to pursue, this ED issue and so much life unfulfilled, has really come to haunt me. 2. I'm privately 100% Aethiest, but born into a religious family. It would be pointless to "come out" to them, but the only other solution is being a pretender and phony around them, or alienating myself from them entirely... thus far I've picked the latter of those two choices, but is there any other way? I really don't need someone to "listen" per say, I need more of a guide to help me step by step evaluate my situation, then prescribe a constructive course of action and monitor me to help make sure I say on course to learn to manage these vexing problems. I'm a very common sense kind of person, who other people come to for advice on practical issues like managing households, finance, etc., but when it comes to dealing with my own problems, I'm like a deer frozen by oncoming headlights. so anyone reading this, if you can recommend a listener here, a counselor or peer group in NYC/USA, or directly related reading materials, it would all be pursued by me and appreciated, thank you.
