...See more I started experimenting with drugs around the age of 12-13 and for 7 years I’ve been struggling with addiction stemming from trying to cope with failed relationships. 2020-22 were some of the lowest points in my life, I felt destroyed after another failed relationship and coped with weed and alcohol for a very long time; until yesterday. The person who I had been trying to desperately get over came back into my life and I thought everything was finally coming together. Well about one month in she left me for the ex she left me for 2 years ago again. I wasn’t aware of this as she had lied to me about a how relationship not being in her best interest so for 2 months I held onto the possibility of us reconnecting until she posted her ex on social media. Back in the day I probably would shutdown and become a ghost, but I am now using this situation as fuel to better myself and to move on and finally be able to deal with this sort of thing sober. I don’t want to be sad anymore and being sober for just a day has really changed my state of being for the better. I know the drugs and her only drag me into darkness, but I think I’m finally starting to see the light. (This is my first post sorry if it’s a bit of ranting but I feel I have nobody to talk to) I’m not even sure if this is the correct thread but for me I very much was addicted to weed mentally- the relationship aspect just fueled this. Hope everyone is taking care of themselves and doing well thank you for taking the time to read this if you made it this far- We can all overcome our problems/addictions being here is a step into the right direction!
