...See more I have only been at my job for about 2 months now, and when I applied I put on the application that I had disabilities - no place for me to explain them or if I needed any assistance in regards to them. I was hired and let the person in charge know a bit about my it when filling out my onboarding, and they said “oh that’s for actual disabilities, like a wheelchair or things like that”. The list we were looking at said many of the disabilities I deal with - autoimmune disorder, anxiety, depression, PTSD, OCD, etc.. Fast forward, and a few weeks later, a new person was put in charge in a position over the manager I originally talked to. Recently, I’ve gotten sick (fever, flu-like symptoms, things from having a compromised immune system). Our handbook says we absolutely cannot work with a fever. So of course I call out, letting them know I’ve got a fever and don’t want to risk getting anyone else sick, because I’m not selfish. This was only the second time, many people call out weekly. Today, I was sat down and told “You call out sick a lot, and you have to realize you’re working in a place where you’re more likely to get sick. So, maybe you should put your health first and think if it’s worth staying here.” Which of course I took as “you’re sick and we don’t care and you need to quit.” Am I justified in thinking this is incredibly rude of my manager - who has never once asked if I’m okay, and doesn’t seem to care in the slightest if someone is sick. Especially since I specifically put that I have disabilities, but was never once asked if I needed any accommodations for. It seems like they’re trying to push my out of the company and get me to quit instead of firing me.
