Hi! Welcome :) It's nice to have you here at 7cups!

Do feel free to call me Platy, or Platypus is okay if you prefer. Yes, 'cyan' is part of my name, but it is an adjective - a descriptive word; and therefore, in my view, not fitting for a name. So, 'Platy' if you please :)
I live in the USA. My time zone is Central Time. Currently (summer) we are in Daylight Saving Time so our time zone is CDT. Year-round though, we are one hour behind Eastern Time = 7cups time. 
I had to say "Goodbye" to my beautiful SFO in September 2019.  So, the work on the teletransporter is on pause.  We'll get it finished one day; just wait, you'll see! :D  In the meantime, I have my 'new' SST here to keep me company.  Not really new, I adopted her in Dec2020.  And sometimes I am here to keep her company!  But that's alright - I'm very glad to have her.  

Once again, welcome to 7cups!  Have a look around.  It's a nice place to hang out.

...See more Hey, all y'all! I'm Platy. Some people call me Platypus; everyone who remembers knows I do *not* like to be called 'cyan.' It is a fantastic color! but it's not a name (for me). While I'm sure I am not new to all of you, here is a sort of "introduction to me" for you who I don't know yet. Okay? Go! My name is Platy and I like warm hugs! I also like: ice skating, volleyball, swimming/diving, reading for just because, and movie nights with friends and buttered popcorn. Oh, learning languages, eating pizza! and animals, of course! I very much dislike! things such as: cooked spinach, new-to-me foods that are super spicy, headaches and migraines, sprained ankles, drinking coffee (I'm definitely a tea connoisseur), driving on icy roads and parking lots! and when people put the new toilet paper roll on the "wrong way" haha. ...See more Is there a way to limit who can see what I write here? Can I add just certain usernames of persons I know? Or maybe it has to be 1-the entire group of 7cups members and listeners OR 2-absolutely no one, just me ??? How does this work, please? @7cupsCommunity @Heather225 (yes and happy birthday to you, dear!) I would really like to have a journal or diary of sorts within 7cups for just me (and admin I'd suppose). Is this a place I can set this up? Platy

But I know for sure that I do not WANT to belong here :( So I have a question for all y'all ... Do you think that an eating disorder is an addiction? If so, how? If not, why not? I'm almost wondering if I need to figure a good definition for "addiction" in the first place. Hmm.... Any help, thoughts, or musings could be helpful. Gee, I'd even take like links to an article or something. Not doing so great right now. ~ Platy

...See more Hi. This is my first "create a new thread." :) Is grocery shopping stressful for anyone else? Anxiety producing? Leading to procrastination and running out of things like milk or bread? Yeah, grocery shopping has been scary for me lately. I sure wish I could have a shopping buddy. I need to go buy milk - like now. (Sadness). ~ Platy
