...See more I did something for myself for the first time in my life thanks to the support and advice of a listener. I went to the police last night and stopped a 13 year abuse cycle by someone in my family. Though it was one of the hardest things I've ever done I do feel somewhat relieved. I can't help but feel ashamed and guilty for not making it stop sooner and how my choice to turn him in will forever affect his life and mine. I know what I did was the best thing I could have done for myself. He can't hurt me anymore. To new beggings <3
