Dating during Covid :(
Relationship Stress / by diplomaticRaspberries601

...See more Sigh. So, Id love to get some feedback on a breakup I recently went through. Prior to Covid I had 2 great dates with a pretty awesome person. SHe was mature, honest, and super into me, and same for me. Once the stay at home orders hit, we FaceTimed, and called, and had 2 socially distanced walks together, but over time I noticed that all of the initial contact was coming from me. So I stopped initiating and she didnt pick up the slack, so we would talk maybe once a week. The next time we met up, it was slightly awkward and I felt super disconnected to her. I mentioned it and she advised he felt it too, but she also said that she felt something was off with us, like we were navigating two different head spaces, and that quarantine has made it so that we didnt have enough foundational elements or connection to make going further make sense. So at that point, I suggested we dont pursue this over quarantine, since its posed so many problems for her. In my head, we are done. My problem is that I cant help feeling this is my fault, because I wasnt good enough, interesting enough, etc. I also am trying to sort through my own triggers and trauma to see if what she was saying really made sense. I mean, I knew the connection was off, but I wasnt at the place where I felt ready to make a decision that it was us. I wanted to pursue things a bit more. But I want to respect where shes at, which is why I suggested ending it. Id love to hear any thoughts at all, that anyone has. Thanks so much!
