how do you know if you really suffer anxiety attacks

...See more I've always considered myself and been considered by close friends and family an axious person, but it only hit me recently that I could actually be having small anxiety attacks quite frequently. When looking for symptoms I can relate to all the psychological ones (feeling of overwhelming fear or impending doom, feeling of going crazy or losing control, feeling you are in grave danger, heightened sense of danger, heightened awareness of danger, increased danger surveillance, surge of doom and gloom,an urgency to escape) but I'm not quite sure if I can relate 100% to the physical ones. I mainly see shortness of breath or heart paplipations and I do think that my heart is beating faster in this moments and that I'm not breathing quite as steadily as i'm used to but I don't recall myself so much during those moments (I usually can't recall after it happened whats set it off and I'm unable to describe precisly how I was feeling). As those 'moments' happen quite often to me, and especially in the past month or so (I would say at least once a day if I spend most time of my day outside); I would like to know if i should consider them anxiety attacks and treat them as such or if I am just an "anxious person" and should just find coping mechanisms for them. If any of you have been in this situation or can relate I would love to hear from you. I'll also take any advice on how to handle the situation, coping mechanisms or pretty much anything that might help.
