I have had a really hard time with this after my first relationhip, which happened to be sexually and emotionally abusive. I feel like these repulsions are holding me back from enjoying myself in a relationship and opening up.

Driving Anxiety

...See more I have always had pretty terrible driving anxiety. As soon as I started driving, I felt anxious and out of control. This wasn't brought on by any accident or anything. I have pretty bad anxiety issues just generally, and this is one manifestation of them. I can drive around places that I'm familiar with without anxiety. I start to feel very anxious if I have to drive somewhere new or somewhere I haven't been in awhile. I have never driven very far from my house either (maybe max distance was 30 minutes away). I also have bad anxiety about driving on highways. I have been practicing driving on a highway near my house with a very large merge lane, but I would feel like I would crash if I had to merge in a normal amount of time. I have looked into defensive driving classes, but unfortunately, most of these are online classes. I have also looked at exposure therapy, but I don't think I can afford any of it, because it is not covered by my insurance. Does anyone have experience with overcoming driving anxiety? Any tips at all are helpful.
