...See more Hi, Everyone! This is my first day on this app. Currently 19, and I started college a couple months ago at my local community college. I did a couple classes in the summer as well. So I have a few credits under my belt. I graduated high school last year in November. And I did nothing for six months. I originally planned to start college that spring semester, but I found out too late I wanted to do more online? Because I was burnt out from going to school. And it was also because I couldn’t contact my advisor (schedule an appointment) because they were switching to a new scheduling website. Therefore, I couldn’t get into the spring semester and I couldn’t see anyone til February. I could have gone in person to see an advisor, but I didn’t want to wait two hours or more as the queue is always full no matter which campus you go to. Once February came around, I got the information I needed for online classes but had to wait until the summer semester to start. (Which started late May.) I was trying to find a job during that time but there wasn’t anything that was close to my house that I would burn myself out in. As I had a habit of doing that with my previous jobs. (Worked at Chick-fil-A in 2021 at the beginning of my sophomore year. Quit five months after that due to stress from school. Picked up another job a few months after that after my sophomore year ended. I stayed at Cinemark as an usher for about four ish months. Since I started in July, and ended in November that year. I was in my junior year that point, so I was already stressed from taking some pretty difficult classes. So early 2023 to late 2023 I was pretty burnt out. Senior year was only three classes, as I was admitted into this online program in the school to help me graduate early. So that’s why I got out in November early. The program was just working on classes online all day. So it got pretty old a month in. And I was still burnt out because of junior year several months earlier. Throughout my high school years (which was three years considering freshman year was Covid for me. So my sleep schedule was fricked up at the time and I didn’t do anything in Covid but play games.) I socialized to some extent, (in my classes and made some friends that I still talk to.) Yet I didn’t really go to homecoming, prom or any sport events because it has never been my thing. Despite that, I still missed high school a bit. Despite getting burnt out from waking up almost every day and going to school. Because I really like interacting with my classroom acquaintances. Sure, I don’t talk to them anymore. But it was something that I looked forward to. (Also some of the teachers.) Mainly I kept to myself during high school besides that, I would hang out with friends during the school year and summer. Yet most of my free time, was messaging others online and playing video games. Which most of the time was in my room. So lately, now my brain is overthinking things and getting itself into an existential crisis because I can’t seem to remember doing nothing important this year. The last I remember being in school sitting down with a traditional teacher with peers is almost two years. (May 2023, the end of my junior year.) As I stated before, my senior year was just sitting down with a computer going through classes, I had a six month gap between classes since then. Summer classes at my community college were online. So it’s just recently that I’m getting back into school. But my brain doesn’t consider it school. To be fair, I am only taking one physical class currently this fall semester. So I have been slowly dabbling a bit out of my comfort zone. But my brain is still freaking out that so much time has passed as 2024 went by so fast. As I was usually in my room playing video games, social media (character.ai) most of the time. It’s just a combination of issues.
