...See more this is very much high school drama thing so if you are trying to move past those days i get it. but i also really need to get this off my chest. ok so i had a very big crush on this guy a few years ago, but i was very shy and had pretty bad self esteem. i also went through something that made me scared of being liked in a romantic way (harassment) and so i never really told anyone. afterwards my best friend told me she liked him (she didn’t know how i felt) and i thought i could just ignore my feelings and be happy for her. nothing happened between them (he rejected her) but a year later i realized i still liked this guy. i decided to tell my best friend and she was very supportive. she understood why i never said anything and she had a new boyfriend at the time, so things were ok. covid happened and i stopped seeing this guy, but i started to work on myself and healed in many ways. my best friend is still friends with him and she started to hint at how we would be such a good match and we would get along so well. i wasn’t sure because i hadn’t seen him in almost two years. somehow i ended up talking with him and going to his house with their friend group. this was huge for me because i would’ve never done that and it might sound lame but i am very proud of myself. we talked a little bit and i instantly started liking him again. i just really wanted to get to know him more and i was finally allowing myself to do so. i thought my best friend was fine with this (since she was pushing us to get to know each other) but last month she texted me telling me they made out “as a joke”. he was a little bit high and she was sober, though she says it was casual and consensual. i know that she doesn’t owe me or anyone any explanation (she broke up with her bf long before). still i feel very confused and sort of resent her for it. i don’t care what she does but it hurt that she knew how i felt and kept pushing us together. now, she keeps saying things like “ that song that you just played on the guitar would make him fall in love with you” or “you are his ideal girl”. but then she says other things like “us making out was bound to happen.” it just doesn’t make any sense! so i just pretend like i didn’t even like him at all. am i overreacting over a few minutes of kissing? i feel dumb and petty. was it even fully consensual? i really don’t know what to do. thank you for reading this if you did <3 have a good day
