how to help a friend through grief

...See more I'm 22F who hasn't experienced grief but i have deepest empathy for everyone struggling with it. I have only ever seen it through my loved ones. I lost my grandparents, all four of them, but somehow that felt natural and normal to me (i was too young to understand). But last year, my bestfriend lost her father. He was sick for over two months, in the hospital, there were complications but he was indeed on the path to recovery. So his death was really sudden for us. He is the first person whose death felt too real (i'm sorry if this is insensitive) to me. Its heartwrenching to see my dearest friend live feeling so empty, heavy and helpless. Why am I writing all this? I need help. I really wanna keep bringing him up in conversations so we can atleast keep him alive in our conversations. I always try my best but its clearly not enough. It would help me alot if you guys can help figure out how and in what way i can bring him up so i don't make her feel uncomfortable and only make her feel seen. She's also really alone in this. Idk how to say this but our circle isn't very aware about helping friends through grief. So if there's anything else i can do to help her please let me know. Thank you so much
