Attitude/perspective about getting older

...See more Okay, so I'm struggling a bit today. The last year I have gone on a rollercoaster ride of acceptance and depression about getting older. It seems as though my body has hit the turbo button on all the signs of aging - I look in the mirror, and someone completely different is looking back at me. Because today is one of my "low" days, I just feel depressed and dismayed ... I always wanted and hoped I'd be one of those people who aged "gracefully," finding the positives in it and embracing it. I'm kind of beating myself up over this "attitude" problem, especially because I just turned 50 a month ago. I know that's not that old, but .... I'm struggling with self compassion vs lecturing and getting angry at myself. So, I thought I'd share this struggle; just own up to it. Also, I'd love to hear others' feedback on how to embrace getting older and/or their struggles with it (I can't be alone in this, can I?). Thanks for listening, everybody.

...See more Phew! Is it just me, or do you sometimes feel that the chat rooms are not for the faint of heart? It seems like the Wild West in some of them at times. Lol. I've actually had some really nice chat room experiences, but--and I can't believe I'm saying this--have felt the last week or so as though I'd like a chat room for the older, quieter folk. (And, at 50, I can't believe I'm calling myself "older, quieter" folk, lol). You see, I made it a goal today to "practice connection" since I have a tendency (introvert) to isolate, but the seas are rough today ... Anyway, just taking a break in the 50s forum before I dive back into the fray ... Thanks for listening.
Difference between Depression Chat and Support group chats?

...See more Hi, All. I'm still finding my way around the 7 Cups site. I noticed in the Group Chat listings that there is one called Depression Chat and one called Depression Support. Can anyone tell me the difference between the two? Thanks!
