Why is it so hard to take in advice from people when going through severe anxiety..

...See more I realized that when I was going through severe anxiety and depression, I felt so lonely that I just wanted someone to help me get through this torturing feeling, and so I spent days searching up advice on reddit, googling "free online therapy service", youtube, and I even came here on 7cup at one point, but no matter how much advice and support I read or heard, I just could not take anything in, and it genuinely felt like nobody understood how I was feeling. It all just felt like the "generic anxiety and depression advice" you hear from your high school counselor, but the thing is, now that I am getting better, I realized that even the advice given to me by my counselor would have genuinely helped me if I had just followed it. Any advice would have helped, but I just could not either accept or understand it in that moment, but that moment when my mental health was at its worst point was when I need those advice the MOST, so I just want to know if anyone is experiencing or have experienced something like this because it was honestly such a paralyzing and debilitating experience. If you are experiencing  something like this I hope you know you're a strong person and the fact that you're here shows that you're doing the best you can. We're all here for you and you better know that. Love you guys

How do you live everyday with a purpose જ⁀➴ ♡

...See more I feel like from the minute I wake up to the minute I fall asleep, I can barely recall a straightforward account of events that had happened that day. Whether it be a large event like a competition to just following the same flow and routine everyday I never really feel anything. Even when I put strenuous effort to break out of that autopilot state, it feels like plastic wrap that clings to your face. I want to live a life that I want, not one that controls me. Maybe it's because I've been so used to spending my days without using my brain and letting social media take control of my time that when I try to get back into a stable rhythm it begins to crash down. I've been doing a bit better than before because I've had a support system who helped me limit my social media usage and build a habit tracker so that I have something to look forward to everyday, but it still feels a bit mechanic sometimes because I'm not sure what to do with myself during times when I am alone with my thoughts. I just want to know if anyone knows how to enjoy spending time with themselves and how to take control of your life. Thank you (❀❛ ֊ ❛„)❤︎
