I work as an English tutor, interpreter and translator. I have realized that most of my students (besides improving their English skills) want to "just" tell me about their lives, what they deal with, and very rarely ask for advice (outside grammar and English vocabulary) as they already know what to do with their lives, they want to hear it said out loud. And I realized I could as well broaden my activities and offer support to other people who are not my students, and need to be listened to, without judgment, advice, motivation...
