...See more I recently entered a relationship with a recovering addict. There are somethings I want to understand and I’m willing to educate myself. It’s just the insecurities I face that I’m struggling with. When is the right time to tell him how I feel? I know his recovery comes first and will always be a factor in our relationship. I wonder sometimes if my past traumas might make me toxic for him or more understanding of him. He recently asked me for space so he could focus more on his recovery. I’m not sure how I should take this time as a let him do what he has to do and wait or do what I have to do and move on. I’m stuck in the middle. Upon dating him I recognized it was going to be tough but the true value of that responsibility and commitment to an addict I trying to figure out.
