I grew up in a small town in West Virginia and leaving the comfort and safety of the mountains has had a profoundly negative impact on my overall being, I think. I'd wanted to leave for so long, but now all I want is to go back. To retreat into the hills, to run away from everything and everyone, just to make it all okay again.
