...See more my girlfriend of 2.5 years recently broke up with me and I feel like it has been my fault. I felt like I felt too comfortable and safe with her that I became complacent. After our relationship went through the honeymoon phase we had many rough patches but we would always persevere. I had high hopes for us and thought we could make it really far in life together. But ever since she went on her trip to italy for a program my anxiety has reached its peak on top of that a close family member was passing and I no outlet besides her. She taught me that it was okay to be vulnerable and when I needed her the most she seemed to back away. She was more of a avoidant type of lover while I was an anxious one I felt betrayed by her in a way and I lost my calm. What didn’t help was that she posted a picture of her with a friend and she was holding his arm and hand and I didn’t think of my words before I texted her. I came off too harsh and I regret it. After everything happened she changed all of her socials within the hour and I felt even worse because she was moving on so quickly as if our 2.5 years mean nothing. I still have a chance to meet up with her after she returns from italy but I have so many questions and I just want closure on whether or not I meant anything to her.
