...See more I remember being neglected, and then physically and emotionally abused by my parents. I remember my mother saying to me several times that I was a pain and a nuissance and that she hated me and wished I had never been born. I wished that I had never been born too, but I never told her that. I remember my mother throwing me into a dark closet because she said I was being like a Bad, Wild Animal. She slammed the door in my small face and I screamed and cried and scratched at the door, and she just mocked me. She stood there, blocking the door, mocking my cries of anguish. And then she would act annoyed with me whenever I showed any negative emotion moving forward from that experience. Mother told me not to cry loudly or tell anybody about the abuse going on at home or "Child Services will come and take you all away from Mommy. And then you might be put in an even worse home, where they wouldn't feed you, or clothe you at all." the next day, my father hit me upside the head for "Acting Up". the next week, my middle sibling locked me in the closet repeatedly, as though he was trying to reenact the traumatic event. as soon as my middle sibling stopped emotionally abusing me, he started physically abusing me, by grabbing my wrists and piercing the skin on my hands and wrists with his fingernails. When even that wasn't satisfactory enough for him, he started to wrap his hands around my neck and strangle me.
