I know about alcohol addiction and Major Depressive Disorder - I am in remission from both. I would be happy to reflect on my experiences when listening to people who are dealing with them. Also, (day job) I know about metabolism, pharmacology and physiology so will be able to listen to people with concerns in those areas though (of course) I will never offer professional advice.

I do not self-harm but I am a volunteer administrator of a board which supports people who do. I may be able to draw on that experience when listening to people who self-harm.

My time-zone is GMT+11. I try (IRL commitments allowing) to be here between 10 am and 2 pm local time.

they were really understanding and professional, but I struggled holding a conversation. however, I couls tell they are very helpful.

I'm scared if I tell someone I self harm, they'll think I want to commit suicide and send me to the hospital. Could this happen?

At what point is a counselor required to involuntarily commit someone to a hospital for self-harm? For example, can you tell them that you have self-harmed or that you have urges to self-harm, without the risk of being committed?
